Thanksgiving!

Saturday, November 30th, 2002

Yay! No school, now that is something to be thankful for!

Wednesday Night: My brother, his best friend Brian, and I went bowling. Ok, I declare I really do suck at bowling. We came home and watched Boiler Room (the movie.)

Thursday: Woke up around um, yah, and went to my Aunt’s in Boulder (about 1 hour from here.) Had a really good thanksgiving meal. We made it home around 6 or so. Steve came over, and we played a while on my Titanium (mostly at homestarrunner.com) Then Fat Ben, and Nick joined us. We finnally decided on Movie-hot-watching-tub time! So after rigging my Titanium up on the table by the hot tub, then up on 2 boxes, and setting up my 2.1 sound system, and my wireless remote for my computer. We indulged in Men in Black 2, I was AMAZED at the sound we were getting. That’s about it.

Friday: Hung with the fam, went shopping, out to lunch, and such. After the whole ordeal, I was headed to the movie ‘they’ with Mike Oertli, but I ended up not going. Later I found myself at Dairy Queen with Steve, Nick, Fat Ben, Brian, Scott (Hamertime), and Emily (Steve’s GF). We later then went to Nick’s and just watched TV. Everyone had to exit earlier, as Fat Ben, Brian, and Nick all play on the CHS football team, and their State Final Game is tomorrow, starts @ 11 (am)!

I wish I would put a little more time into updating the site, I have quite the stories to tell, but I am too lazy like right now to type em… Hay, and you guys should post comments!

Matt Working out (this time not an oxymoron)

Tuesday: Oh my, a friday equivalent! After school I meet up with Steve as we went to work out in the school weight room with the baseball players, but turned out to be just us and a few of the injured foosball players (Brian Brzezlcki, and (Fat) Ben Willson) until later. As the baseball team went running tuesday. So yah, steve and I decided to call it quits after about an hour. I decided I was done when it even hurt to scratch your arm … We were going to go to Emily’s house (Steve’s Girl Friend’s) and play some smash brothers, but she was baby sitting so Steve hung out @ my house for a while. Steve’s sister got into the airport tuesday night, for thanksgiving, so had to leave earlier… My brother, dad, and I went and saw the latest James Bond movie, Die Another Day. Was really good, if you like Bond movies. It had ‘action’ in more than one way. (Like I said, it was another Bond movie.) That’s about all… The Matteson hotel was almost full, as my sister’s friend Jill stayed the night, so the house had all five Matteson’s, Carrie (Sister’s friend who has been staying with us for a few months), and Jill.

Wednesday: I woke up around 11, fooled around until about 1 or so. Took a shower, and then we went to Jackson’s for lunch. (Dad, Mom, Tim, Brian (Brother’s friend), and I) Dad only had a half day of work, so we went to return some DVDs, and now are at the Grocery store (ok, so I am in the car)

I think I need a secretary

Thursday I had a bagel with my mom over at Panera Bread, I then when home only to do about 5 hours of work followed by 3 or so hours of homework. Not the most exciting evening. I was supposed to run sound @ my church, but found some one to cover for me.

Friday Steve picked me up around 4 pm and we went to Andrew’s house, as his band practiced, as (I’ll explain later) they had their first ‘gig’ Saturday. (I hate the word gig, I will explain that later.) After the jamming we went over to Kevin’s house (lives’ across the street from Andrew, and is also in the band) where we ordered pizza for dinner. After quite the negations we decided to go to my place for a movie, instead of a Halo gaming night, or trying to go see the new (James) Bond movie. So friday night it was Steve, Emily, Kevin, Adam and I watching Duce Bigalow. After Steve took his girl friend home (Emily) he returned to spend the night at my house. We just played some Nintendo 64, and watched TV.

Saturday morning, we woke up around 9, and got ready, as my dad had Belgian Waffles made for us around 9:30. We then went to Andrew’s house as they did the final practice/jamming session before their performance at these twin 13 year old girl’s birthday part. After practice, we went to Kevin’s and played some Halo and some other games. Following that we went to some preschool that Kevin’s mom helped at, and we moved some things for them.

Steve and I then went to his place where originally a nap was planned, but we first indulged in some pizza and then watched the movie Rocket Man. To stay on time we packed up all the equipment and started our journy to this house where Steve’s band was performing at this birthday party. On the way we saw the car in front of us just about hit the largest Buck (Male deer) I have ever seen. He was just about 6′ tall not including his HUGE rack. Quite the fright. We arived at this house and meet up with Nate (extreme Yo-yo kid, my Homecoming/Sadie’s date’s brother) and Jenn (Nate’s Girl Friend). Nate was also performing at this birthday bash. All and all I would say it went really really well. Oh, and Steve is quite the (13 year old) ladies man! “Can I have a hug?!?!” “Sign my shirt?” “Do you have girlfriend?” “You’re hot!” are just a few key phrases I heard way to many times, oh and Steve must have gave 80 hugs (to about 30 girls, yes they wanted seconds and thirds.)

Following this we meet at Kevin’s house after we all unloaded the audio hardware at their respected homes. after another set of negations we went to Cold Stone for a dessert. (Included Steve, Emily, Adam, Andrew, Kevin, and me.) Then decided hot tubbing at my house sounded nice, but um, high school students/ teens are WAY to lazy, once they found the couch’s in my basement, no one moved or attempted the hot tub. We really just did some channel surfing, and watched some parts of movies. Soon came 11:30 when I guess most kid’s parents think their kids become pumpkins and need to be home for this dramatic experience. =-)

Wow, I don’t think I have been this productive on the couch for quite a while. (I am typing this right now on my Titanium wireless-ly on the couch.) I think I nap may be in order…

Oh my, still busy!

Monday I got a ride home with Maggie, and we made a stop by her ky-ro-pac-tor, all I have to say is OUCH! KRACK BAM! While watching I was talking to steve and then my ma on my cell phone. Later Steve picked me up, and we setup his band at the school. Tuesday was the talent show, so monday they had everyone setup and did a run through. Got home around 9:30 and did my homework.

Tuesday, Steve picked me up around 4 and we did a little sound check. The show went pretty well. Other than poor Steve’s g-tar lost tune by the time it was their time, and then one of the strings caught on the pickup, so he was pretty much out the 1st song. We went to Red Robin after and got home around 10:30
