I am addicted…
Internet Archive (Archive.org) has a killer selection of free live music. I now have downloaded, unzipped, converted, converted, and labeled 6 full shows.
I thought I was taxing my G4 last night.. right now:
-I am unzipping OAR
-converting AIFF to AAC with Jason Mraz
-converting shn to AIFF with Guster
-converting FLAC to AIFF with OAR
-chatting in iChat
-playing AAC files in iTunes
-surfing
-email open
Just walked in from what turned out to be a great night. Hey it’s even snowing!
I’ll post more extensively on such events tomorrow, including photographic documentation.
*update*
Just walked in from a fun evening with Molly and some new friends. I meet up with them at a kid’s house, and found him and his band practicing. They sound a lot like Jet, and I like it. We entertained ourselves there for a decent while then proceeded to Solid Ground’s Coffee Shop. (Yah, the place where my name is on their -Frame of Fame-.) They had some live music fun, just after I posted (see below) the kid who’s house we were at took the open mic and performed some Jason Mraz, something, and something in spanish. It was bunches of fun watching such.
I had to catch up with them as I had an indoor soccer game at 5:30. I was a little worried as only one other player and I were standing at the field ready to play with 7 minutes ’till the game started. Sure enough we had more than the required players. I started in goal again, I am decent, but yah, not so hot. The game was SO MUCH FUN, I only have one more. The game was 5-3 them at half. The game was done w/ a score like 7-5 us. My parents came to the game tonight, and we had a quick dinner after. Dad though realized as they were running more than a little late that he had less than 1 gallon of gas in his tank. I loaned him my baby, the beetle, for the night, and in return I had the joy of cruising in his beast, the Mazada 6. It was nice going the speed limit for once on C4-70.
I wish I had my new camera to get some fun shots of such as above… I received the tracking number today, so I guess by Thursday. Also, Nick Kurt, my carputer consultant, just informed me he has my beast running. YAY.
