Slow Day

Saturday, December 31st, 2005

I have listened to 97 songs so far today. Lets do a little math with that… say each of them is 3 minutes long (really conservative guess,) that gives you 291 minutes, divide by 60 for hours. 4.85 hours. Oh, and it’s still playing.

Today I woke up late, got 20 miles in on the bike (thus a few songs) and I guess just hung around the house. I made it to the bug shop to pickup a few last parts. Really? Why do some days have to be so boring. It’s 10:44, I’m up for something, but i fear a 20 songs from now i’ll just be moving 3 feet to my bed. Hope I find a place for tomorrows new year celebration.

Empty Thoughts

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

So what’s to talk about? It’s wild to come back and just hang out with kids you haven’t seen in a few months and hadn’t talked to. I think there is more of a metal shift for kids the summer after their freshman year of college, than say there first semester at college. Back in Littleton I have run into a bunch of folks, a lot hasn’t changed, but some has. Hanging over a Steve’s house the other night really seemed like we wrapped up the high school days, talked about the columbine days, but it definite was of the past. Truth of it all, I’ll be excited to go to any reunion of anything, no matter what I’m up to if I’m anywhere as interested in this psychology as I am now.

Do you know what makes a stressful day to me? Not really getting to connect with a friend. The other day I got an awesome bike ride in, but I really felt like I had gotten nothing done, and I nowhere to go. That was a frustrating time. I even got in my car and drove to Littleton without knowing where I was really going to stop by car (Steve got hold of me during the drive, which turned into the night I sorta mentioned above.)

What can you not go the day without?

Bug Rambling

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

The bug is back together, and running. That is neat. This Christmas it was fun to give both my grandma and aunt a ride in the car. My aunt originally bought the car with less than 100 miles on it, and drove it for a long while, but then my grandpa bought it from her and drove it until he gave it to my sister before he passed away. I think it’s a connection when you care about the same thing someone else cared for another time.

Last night I was reading tons of forums about VW bug’s, one thread, which I had seen a few months ago talked about tire pressure. I’d like to know more about such, I know the tire has the max pressure on the side, but does that depend any on the weight of the vehicle? Does the manual have the right of way? Even if it’s 25 PSI less than what you had been running? Last night I let about 25 PSI out of my wheels to make them within’ about 3 PSI of matching the manuals advice. How many MPG will I lose? Is the sloppy steering worth the smoother ride? Hrm…
