I am finally no longer a bad friend and have made it to the famous place called Steamboat to visit Sr. Drew! Yes, the famous kid who lived with Hydle and I in Golden for a summer, introduced me to the road bike and then sold me his.
The drive out was kinda fun. Wait, not kinda, it WAS fun. I was thinking; I don’t think in my many lands of travel I have spent a night in Steamboat springs. Geeking out, that was the theme of the drive out here - iPod bumping tunes, Radar Detector telling stories of invisible light, GPS showing the waypoints. I put in 3 different cities I would drive through on the way to Steamboat and it sure made time blow past, as it told me the next city was only 20 miles to go. The Mazda6 was enjoying the hills and was a pleasure to drive.
As I got in town Drew and I biked downtown for some burritos. That was followed by a show at the bar, the local rugby team was creating quite the entertainment. Let’s just say only one not so sober man was tackled off his bike twice. Good times!
